Exactly the tower I've had for many many years with my Mediator 4000 system. Wonderful tower. I really wish I hadn't ditched the original desktop case and daughteboard, though, as I now have a 2nd motherboard and nothing to house it it. Good job (so far) with the fix! Don't forget two caps by the audio are the wrong way around on the silk-screen.

Cool video. I have never seen an Elbox 4000 tower before. But, where was the mediator board? I have complete confidence by the conclusion of this series you will have it running like it just came off the Commodore assembly line.

That's a 'Power Tower', as in Power Computing. A re-badged Elbox 'E/BOX 4000' tower. Sorry for being pedantic. 😅 I bought the A1200 version from Power back in the day. Still have it and use it, but I suspect I need to consider a new PSU solution after 25+ years! Great video, Chris, as always.

Works great on the HP Elite Desk 800 G2 Mini. Will probably work with that whole line. Better than a Pi400 for sure! Cheaper too!

A mate had an Amiga 1000 and it was the first time I'd been introduced to one after reading about them in various magazines of the era. So wanted one but was out of my reach for a few years until 1992 when I traded a C64 in for a refurbished Amiga 500.

Sweet video Chris, I am about to score an Amiga 500 in this same scenario. Pretty stoked for it.

What printing a FACEPLATE. Hey lets chat I'm looking for an A4000d faceplate. actually the entire case would be nice Now the reason I'm here is my A3000 is acting very flaky. Lots of random hangs, guru notices, apps not running correctly etc. I'm thinking a place to start is a recap with high end parts, then a new psu followed by long duration diagnostics..

No you can never have to many amigas, i have a decent collection but sadly lacking a 3000 and a 4000, one day if i get rich, they are sadly out of my price range. Your love for Amiga is unmatched Dr Chris! As a 13 year old kid back in the early 90s I spent many years swapping games for my A500. At the time I had no idea about the journey of Amiga and Commodore, workbench or what its true capabilities were. Sure we had Jesus on Es and spaceballs to show off the graphics and sound (taking much fun out of inferior 16bit consoles)It’s thanks to guys like you that teach us youngsters the true potential of these systems and how they shaped the personal computer. Used the old config. Can see the desktop for a second and then I get an software failure --> Error: 8000 0004 Task: 40AA4028 What do I need to change in the config ????

What makes your A1000 a boing ball edition. What does that mean.

In XCopy in the Tools menu iirc there is an option Killsys which throws as much of WB and unneeded things out, switches to a few colors to give more memory. On 1MB machines that was just enough to do the trick without a swap. Btw when you get numbers other than 0 when reading disks in xcopy it means it can't properly read it.

Awesome work as always, looking forward to part 2, hopefully the Mediator is in good shape. Of the (2) A4000 rescues in ~2005, this one was in a news broadcast studio in somewhere USA, so they must have had it repaired as this was doing overlay/genlock work via toaster/tbc before migrating to the tower. BTW Mediator bridge has to be in the bottom slot, and it can map video card memory into fast ram. Also great new working music/outro/end cap. 😃
